This meeting will be focused on two laundry topics.

The first is the creation of a Combination All-in-One Washer Dryer UES, which the RTF has previously directed staff to develop. We are looking for feedback on a proposed methodology for this measure.

The second is an update to the Residential Dryers UES measure. The current measure uses NEEA’s UCEF v2 performance metric, rather than the DOE’s CEF performance metric because the UCEF captures a broader and more realistic range of dryer usage than the CEF does. However, as the market for heat pump dryers has evolved and matured, the performance of dryers appears to be more predictable than expected and correlated to the CEF. For these reasons, we are seeking feedback on a proposal to switch from using the UCEF v2 to the CEF as our measure identifier, which would alleviate the need for all heat pump dryers to be independently tested to the UCEF v2.
