Summary

In 2019, the RTF started exploring a potential role for supporting the region in demand response with a specific focus on developing per unit savings estimates for demand response technologies. The specific technologies of interest include:

  • Commercial lighting controls
  • Residential water heaters
  • Connected thermostats
  • Electric vehicle battery chargers
  • Irrigation pump controls
  • Refrigeration controls

The RTF's 2020 charter was expanded to include demand response and is now working to enhance their tools to support more DR analysis in the coming years.

This subcommittee will provide critical feedback to inform RTF analysis and decision making. Reach Laura Thomas or Josh Rushton for more information.
