Summary

Background: Intially, RTF staff convened the Scientific Irrigation Scheduling (SIS) subcommittee to support staff in developing a new standard Protocol for this measure that complies with the RTF Guidelines. The first RTF measure was developed in 2006, and is based on research conducted by Quantec between 2003 and 2005. Key topics of discussion for this subcommittee include characterization of baseline practices and quantifying the impacts of introducing SIS to an irrigation system. Most recently, this subcommittee was convened to review research completed by the Bonneville Power Administration in 2017 on current SIS baselines throughout the region. The study found cause to deactivate this standard protocol. Related materials can be found below.
