Summary of Interview Findings
Overview: In order to improve the quality of energy end-use data, the RTF has contracted with KEMA, Inc. to develop a business case for a comprehensive regional end-use and load shape data collection study.
Where the success of such a study depends on significant participation by and coordination with regional stakeholders, developing a compelling business case requires a clear understanding of stakeholders’ interests and needs as they relate to end-use data. Our approach to gathering this critical information is through a series of interactive webinars and individual interviews and/or focus groups with stakeholders.
When: We invite you to participate in a series of two 90-minute webinars held on April 25th at 1:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time, and May 10th at 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time. The purpose of the webinars is to solicit your feedback regarding your end-use data interests and needs which will be used to direct the focus of the business case. We strongly encourage your participation in this very important effort.
(Update: Webinar #1.5 on May 4, from 1-2:30pm has been added as a repeat of Webinar #1 for those who were not available to attend it on 4/25)
Agenda: The first webinar will - based on your input - lay the groundwork for the development of more detailed stakeholder interviews to be conducted during a later phase of this project. During this interactive webinar, we would like to get your feedback regarding who uses end use-data, how is it used, what are the risks of not using updated data, and what are your needs related to data accuracy, precision, and format.
The second follow-up webinar will summarize the feedback from the participants of the first webinar and provide an opportunity for additional feedback.
Who Should Attend: Utility personnel who currently use end-use data, as well as personnel who do not currently use but would whose analyses would benefit from updated end-use information. Typically, this involves personnel from Energy Efficiency and Demand Response Planning, Load Forecasting, Marketing, Rates, Transmission and Distribution Planning, Integrated Resource Planning, as well as other functions. Others who are interested in energy end-use data are welcome.
