Install a motor controller on evaporator systems already equipped with ECMs. ECM controllers sense the operational status of the cooling system, and controls the speed of the evaporator fans. When the thermostat is satisfied and the compressor cycles off, the controller will sense the compressor off cycle and will switch the motors to the slower speed. Savings occur from: (1) direct motor wattage reduction due to full speed runtime hours reduction and (2) waste heat reduction to refrigeration system.
