Category
small saver
Status
deactivated
Fuel type
dual fuel
Sector

Applications
cooking equipment

This measure was deactivated at the September 2021 RTF meeting. After the adoption of a new more federal standard the RTF felt this was no longer a viable measure. Regional program savings claims also suggest minimal recent activity for the measure, further supporting the decision to deactivate.

This measure covers the installation of a reduced flow pre-rinse spray valve (PRSV) in commercial kitchens with hot water heated with an electric or gas water heater. Valve must be WaterSense qualified or have a minimum spray force of 4.0 ounces-force.

Approve measure update

Decision Details

The RTF approved a single baseline number (the federal minimum, 1.18 gpm) for the region, and to use the median hours of use per day by facility type (rather than the average) and to make no adjustment for post-flow rate since the tested cleanability for the 0.65 PRSV is similar to the other federal minimum PRSV's cleanability.
