Fryers are used to deep fry food. Savings occur from advanced burner and heat exchanger design; reduced idle energy consumption from improved insulation; and more accurate thermostats. Additional user benefits may also include continuous production capacity, higher pound-per-hour production rates and improved oil conservation and management enabled by quicker recovery times.

The RTF has measure applications for both electric and gas fryers in a range of pan capacities. This measure is applicable in Idaho and Montana, and in Oregon in 2021 only.  In Washington, the state appliance efficiency standard for fryers is similar to the current ENERGY STAR Commercial Fryer specification.  The RTF anticipates this same standard being approved and effective in Oregon starting in 2022.
