Fryers are used to deep fry food. Savings occur from advanced burner and heat exchanger design; reduced idle energy consumption and increased efficiency from improved insulation; and more accurate thermostats. Additional user benefits may also include continuous production capacity and higher pound-per-hour production rates.

The RTF has measure applications for both electric and gas fryers for standard and large vat. This measure is applicable in all regions. Idaho and Montana does not have mandatory state code and assumes non-ENERGY STAR fryers as an inefficient fryer and offers potential energy savings for either ENERGY STAR fryers or RTF Tier 1 and RTF Tier 2 fryers (based on idle rate). Washington and Oregon have mandatory state code and assumes RTF Tier 1 fryers as an inefficient fryer and offers potential energy savings for RTF Tier 2 fryers (based on idle rate).
