Fryers are used to deep fry food. Savings occur from:
- Reduced idle energy consumption from improved insulation
- More accurate thermostats
- Advanced burner and heat exchanger design.
Additional user benefits may also include continuous production capacity, higher pound-per-hour production rates and improved oil conservation and management enabled by quicker recovery times.
The RTF has expanded this measure to include gas fryers in addition to electric ones. CBSA 2019 estimates there are approximately 100,000 gas fryers in the region which is around 6 times the number of electric fryers, 15,000, regionally. Given this, the RTF has set category to small saver for electric applications and planning for natural gas applications.
