At a Glance
The Commercial Connected Thermostat UES addresses savings opportunities related to thermostat programming in single-zone HVAC systems. The primary savings mechanisms are scheduled temperature setbacks and fan mode (setting fan to "auto" mode during unoccupied hours). In some cases, additional savings may be achieved through improved heat pump control and elimination of simultaneous heating and cooling (in the case of "invisible zones"). This measure includes separate UES values for initial thermostat delivery and programming (5 year measure life) and subsequent programming reverification (1 year measure life, with savings incremental to initial delivery and programming).
